Direction and Focus

If any of you know me, you know that I have had a hard time trying to figure out what I wanted to share in my blog. I have read over and over how you make your blog “your own,” but I really didn’t know where I wanted to take it or what I had to share with the world. Now, I finally realized what I want to write about. How about something that I feel very passionately towards? If I choose a topic that really means a lot to me all I can do is be happy that I have a place to share my research and opinions.

So the topic is…Patient Relations, Medical Interpreters and Interactions between the patient and medical professional.

Obviously, I will not claim to be an expert on the topic or anything near it, but I do hope to give helpful insight from previous research and to provoke interesting conversations and discussions.

InDesign CS3

This semester I am in a Public Relations Publications class and have been learning how to navigate and work through projects in InDesign. A project for the class was to teach the rest of the class a technique that was once challenging to us but now we have mastered it. The technique that I was excited to finally figure out was how to create a gradient color. The following website aided with my tutorial:

Try it yourself!

1. Open Indesign

2. Open the gradient palate (right side near the color palate)

3. Drag colors from the color palate the the gradient palate and move the lines designating the colors to create gradient

4. Enjoy using your personally created gradient!!

Linking on the Web

Currently, I am discovering how to manage all of my blogs and websites. In my PR Pubs class, my teacher is very web active and has so many web pages. I really want to manage my bloggs well and keep up to date with them.  I have twitter, PR open mic, blogger, word press and my own blogg for my half marathon fund raising, needless to say I am overwhelmed with keeping up with them.
Check out the latest tag to donate for my run!!

Thanks for being patient while I get this organized!

Beginnings for a Blog

Welcome to my new blog! I am really excited to share much of my life with you and hopefully some great discussions can come from here. This semester I have a lot of new and exciting challenges in my life and I would love feed back. Please share any questions or feedback that you have.

I am currently in my senior year at Georgia Southern University (GSU), and I am in search of the internship for me!  Also, I am training for a half marathon (13.1 miles) in January ’09. The race is at Walt Disney world and  I am also trying to raise as much money as possible for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (NMSS).

My brother just got engaged and I am the maid of honor for the wedding. Maria, my future sister-in law, is the most wonderful woman and is going to make a great addition to our family. Maria, my mother and I have been planning the wedding together and have had so much fun.

Needless to say, I have a lot going on. I hope that we can keep connected, you can be entertained, and we can have some thought provoking discussions.
